Understanding Odds

Odds represent the probability of an event occurring and determine your potential winnings. Paddy Power displays odds in decimal format by default. To calculate your return, multiply your stake by the odds. A £10 bet at 2.50 returns £25 (£15 profit + £10 stake). Odds below 2.00 are "odds-on" favourites; above 2.00 are "odds-against".

How to Place a Bet

1. Log in to your Paddy Power account. 2. Navigate to the sport and event you want to bet on. 3. Click or tap on the odds for your chosen outcome — it will be added to your bet slip. 4. Enter your stake amount in the bet slip. 5. Review your potential return. 6. Click "Place Bet" to confirm. Your bet will be confirmed immediately.

Types of Bets

Single: A single bet on one outcome. The simplest and most common bet type.

Double: Two selections combined. Both must win for the bet to return a profit. The odds of the two selections are multiplied together.

Treble: Three selections combined. All three must win.

Accumulator (Acca): Four or more selections combined. High potential returns but all legs must win. Paddy Power offers Acca Insurance on 5+ fold football accas.

Each Way: Common in horse racing, this splits your stake into two equal parts — one on the horse to win, one on the horse to place. You win if your horse wins; you get a smaller return if it places.

Beginner Tip: Start with singles on sports you know well. Only bet what you can comfortably afford to lose. Never chase losses.

Cash Out

Cash Out allows you to settle your bet before the event ends. If your bet is going well, you can lock in a guaranteed profit. If it looks like your bet might lose, you can recover some of your stake. Cash Out value is calculated in real time based on current odds.

Responsible Gambling

Always set a budget before you bet and stick to it. Paddy Power provides tools to help you gamble responsibly: deposit limits, loss limits, session time alerts, and self-exclusion via Gamstop. If gambling is causing problems, contact BeGambleAware at www.begambleaware.org or call the National Problem Gambling Helpline.

18+ only. Gambling involves risk. Never bet more than you can afford to lose.
